2020vs is located in Palmer Lake, right next to Monument and Woodmoor, in the area known as Tri-Lakes Colorado (Palmer Lake, Lake Woodmoor, Monument Lake, and the surrounding area).
But the photography business takes me pretty much nation-wide, so I am always willing to travel.

HISTORY and MISSION: 2020 Visual was once part of Legacy Data Solutions (LDS), L.L.C. (est. 1997), located in Palmer Lake, Colorado (next to Monument and Woodmmor - Tri-Lakes), and was the graphics, video conversion, and video/photo production part of that business. 2020 Visual was also the part of LDS that provided all of the photos, videos, Wecams, and 360° tours for Tour Tri-Lakes, Tour Palmer Lake, Tour Woodmoor and Tour Monument, and produced training videos as well. Today 2020 Visual is now its own entity and is 2020 Visual Studios, a Limited Liability Company that provides high-end, top-quality commercial photography and visual arts services. Both domain names, www.2020visual.com and www.2020visualstudios.com will get you to this Web site.

Nick, Photographer and Visual Artist: I was born and raised on Long Island, New York. Hometown is Plainview and I lived there until I was 19 years old. I grew up loving art, making jewelry, playing with photography (had a small basement darkroom and a bunch of different cameras), writing creative song lyrics, and lifting rusty old weights in the basement. In December of 1979 I moved to California, lived there for a few months, and then joined the USAF (worked with and on Minuteman Missiles, 60 to 120 feet underground, and with nukes). While serving for about 7 years my creative side went essentially dormant. I became very technical and analytical, and dug into computers and aviation/aerospace, including commercial aviation, and I traveled world-wide. I spent 18 years in aviation/aerospace, also served as a volunteer firefighter, owned a small computer support and Web design company [Legacy Data Solutions (LDS), L.L.C. - also designed logos, brochures, business cards, all sorts of graphics, animation, and training videos], and later a personal training/life coaching business called Creative Common Sense, L.L.C. I finally started getting back into my creative roots with 2020 Visual Studios. I have literally gone from dark rooms and underground places to state-of-the-art digital photography and an above ground world of smiles, beautiful people, and beautiful places. SPECIALIZING IN: While I really do not specialize in any particular type of photography, I do have some favorite types. Number 1 is capturing people in their 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's (and on up) who work hard to take care of themselves and do all they can to look and feel their best. I guess I enjoy capturing those people while they are at their best because I know how hard it is to get and stay there. I appreciate the level-of-effort, the sculpting, the discipline, the vision, and the drive that goes into it. Not to mention all of the obstacles that have to be overcome, including limited time and then people throwing cake and goodies in your face. Yes, no denying it, I of course love creating and capturing sexy, stunning, glamorous, eye-popping/appealing, and sweet photos of the incredible, and the sculpted, human body. Number 2 is on the flip side, sort of. I love photographing old dilapidated buildings, old vehicles and machines, etc. The more worn out, falling down, decaying, and left for time and weather to have its way with, the better. Number 3 would be capturing beautiful scenes, landscapes, weather and odd sights. But those are just 3 of my top favorites, not really a specialty, and not at all what I am limited to. The truth is, I love taking photos of everything and everyone, from young/new to old, from relic to modern and high-tech.

VISUAL ARTIST: Several people have asked me what a Visual Artist is. I define a Visual Artist as someone who develops a picture in their mind´s eye for what something could look like, or already is, while others may be missing it. Obviously a Visual Artist creates visual art, of all kinds (photos, paintings, sculptures, etc.). But to help clarify things, and add in a piece to my 2020 Visual Studios definition, a visual artist is one who creates the scene for a photo shoot. Setting the stage, or the scene, for a "creative" photo shoot does require a true artist. It also requires a person who can balance setting the stage and controlling the scene or environment while also allowing it, and the people in it, to flow freely and enjoy the natural creativity or scene that appears. It can be a very challenging balance, but well worth the above-and-beyond effort put into each and every photo session. You will notice that most of my people photography includes a lot of the background and scene as well as the person. I love capturing the person in a creative setting, not just the person alone, but the person living life in that place, and in that moment in time.

COPYRIGHTS: Unlike most photographic services and studios, YOU will share rights to all photographs taken for you as part of the services.* This means that you can copy/reproduce, print, enlarge, reduce, edit, use in articles, and use on Web sites, any of the photos taken of you. All of this at a fraction of the cost of what most photographic services/studios charge. Additionally, I can turn your photos into true pieces of art! I do reserve the right to exhibit any and all work in print and electronic form publicly or privately, and to market and sell copies. This pertains to hard copy, digital, or any other media formats.
